God Bless Baby Troy

This past Sunday (August 28, 2011), Matt and I had Troy dedicated at our church.  We were happy to take this time to recognize our commitment to raising him in a Christian home, and were pleased to have our family there with us as well.  We attended the 11am service, and I had to do what no mother likes to do, wake him up before we left!  Regardless, he did so well during the service, sleeping on dad and sharing many smiles.  He received a blue tinted rose in a bud vase (matching his very cute blue, cable sweater pants) , following our commitment and a congregational prayer.

After the service, we had a luncheon at our home.  We love to enjoy company at our house, just wish we could have enjoyed being outside more this summer.  I wanted to take this opportunity to make Troy his first cake (even though he wouldn't be eating it).  Although it definitely looks like I need to keep my day job, I will say that if I owned an icing bag my finished product would have been much better.  This was the first time I ever tried to make fondant (what a pain), and what can I say....I tried my best.
